Corporate and Business Law
This area of law is under the responsibility of Mr. Armando MÉRIDA, who has extensive experience in these two fields, and is a very important area in our Firm. We usually organize Guatemalan corporations for national or foreign clients, as well as everything regarding their management and administration, Shareholders’ Meetings and Board of Directors meetings.

Trademarks and Patents
This field is under the responsibility of Mr. Armando MÉRIDA, Ana Cecilia MOLINA and Daniel BARREDA. During the last years, the Trademarks and Patents Division has been steadily increasing.
Every year we attend the International Trademark Association (INTA) Annual Meeting. This gives us the ability to have continuous contact with our clients, and make new clients in this field. Our Firm is also member of ASIPI, and we regularly attend the meetings organized by such Association.
We also furnish trademark protection service for those trademarks that have previously been registered by us.

Litigation
At Mérida y Asociados we handle mainly civil, business and administrative cases. In relation to criminal cases, we can provide our clients with very good lawyers who specialize in this field. If we recommend a colleague, we maintain responsibility towards our client for the professional performance of the colleague recommended by us. We can also give advice on labor cases.

Notary Process
Guatemalan lawyers are both lawyers and notaries, therefore, in our Firm the process of notarizing is exercised as a very important part of our work. We have an excellent portfolio of corporate clients for whom we draft any and all civil and business deeds, including the writing of Horizontal Property Regimes, promises of sale, purchases, unifications, dismemberments, mortgages, pledges, unsecured loans, thus fulfilling a large daily volume of work quickly and efficiently.

Lic. Armando Mérida
Mr. Armando MÉRIDA RUANO, founder and partner of Mérida y Asociados Law Firm, worked for several years in the legal department of a prestigious international banking institution in Guatemala City. This allowed him to acquire solid knowledge and extensive experience.
He was also an associate of Quezada, Ibargüen y Escobar, a Law Firm in Guatemala City, and since 1994, founded the firm that operates as Mérida y Asociados.

Attorney at Law and Notary Public, earned her Law degree
from the Rafael Landívar University.

Abogado y Notario egresado de la Universidad del Istmo de Guatemala en el año 2010 (cum laude).
